Reporting documentation
Reports a business owner can read in two minutes: how many leads came in, where they came from, what they cost, and what happens next.
A marketing report has two jobs: help the owner make a decision, and show that the money is doing something. Most reports manage neither. They arrive as a stack of screenshots full of impressions and click-through rates, the number that matters is buried on page four, and nobody reads past the cover. The first month a report fails to arrive, or fails to make sense, is the month an owner starts wondering what they are paying for.
These guides cover the report I send every month and the harder one I write after a launch, when the numbers are small, the tracking tools disagree, and the temptation is to dress things up. If you own a business, read them to know what a good report should tell you. If you write reports for clients, the monthly report guide includes a template you can copy.
