How-to

Give me access to your Google Ads account

Updated October 18, 20263 minute read

This page shows how to give me access to your Google Ads account. You send an invite to my Google account from inside your own account. You never send me a password, your business stays the owner, the ads keep billing to your own payment method, and you can remove me at any time.

What to enter

My email
tuckershively@gmail.com
Access level
Admin
Then send me
Your 10-digit customer ID (it looks like 123-456-7890) by text or email, so I accept the right invite.

Before you begin

  • Sign in with the Google account you use for Google Ads.
  • You need Admin access yourself, because only an Admin can invite people. If the steps below are missing for you, someone else is the Admin of the account. Forward them this page.

Send me an invite

  1. Open Google Ads

Go to ads.google.com and sign in. If you see more than one account, choose your business's account.

  2. Note your customer ID

Your 10-digit customer ID shows at the top of the screen, next to the account name. Copy it down for the last step.

  3. Open Access and security

Click Admin (the gear icon in the left menu), then click Access and security.

  4. Start an invite

On the Users tab, click the blue + button.

  5. Enter my email and access level

Type tuckershively@gmail.com and choose Admin as the access level.

  6. Click Send invitation

Google emails me the invite. My email shows in your list as pending until I accept, and Google notifies you when I do.

  7. Text or email me your customer ID

Send me the 10-digit number from step 2 at (502) 689-3174 or through my contact form. It lets me match the invite to your business straight away.

Why Admin

Google Ads has five access levels. The difference that matters here is between Standard and Admin. Google's own description of the levels says Standard can edit campaigns, but only Admin can link Google Analytics to import conversions and add or remove product links. Those links are how your ads learn which clicks turned into calls and leads, so they are the first thing I check and fix.

Access levelWhat Google lets it do
AdminEverything, including linking Google Analytics, accepting manager links, and giving or removing other people's access.
StandardEdit campaigns and billing information, but not change who has access or add product links.
Read onlyView campaigns and run reports.
BillingView and manage billing only.
Email onlyReceive notification emails and reports.

The bill stays yours. Google keeps charging the payment method already on your account, and I never change it without asking you first. If you would rather not give Admin, choose Standard, and I will set up the tracking links with you on a shared screen.

Verify it works

  • In Access and security, tuckershively@gmail.com shows with Admin access.
  • The pending label is gone, which means I accepted the invite.

Troubleshooting

Remove my access later

Go back to Admin, then Access and security, find tuckershively@gmail.com on the Users tab, and remove it using the actions on that row. Your campaigns, history, and billing are not affected.

Next steps

Rather have me do this for you?

I build the whole system in three months and hand it to you: the code, the accounts, the manual, the videos, and the training. If your goals are not reached by the end of month two, month three is free.
