How-to
Give me access to your Google Analytics
This page shows how to give me access to your Google Analytics. You invite my Google account from inside your own account. You never send me a password, your business stays the owner, and you can remove me at any time.
On this page
What to enter
tuckershively@gmail.comBefore you begin
- Sign in with the Google account that manages your business's analytics.
- You need the Administrator role on the account yourself, because only an Administrator can add people. If you cannot find the steps below, someone else holds that role (often whoever built your last website). Forward them this page.
Add me as an Administrator
- Open Google Analytics
Go to analytics.google.com and sign in. If you see more than one account, use the picker at the top left to choose your business's account.
- Open Admin
Click Admin, the gear icon at the bottom left of the screen.
- Open account access management
In the Account settings, click Account access management.
- Start a new user
Click the blue + button at the top right, then click Add users.
- Enter my email
Type
tuckershively@gmail.com. Leave Notify new users by email checked, so I get an email the moment it is done. - Choose Administrator
Under the roles, select Administrator. Leave the data restriction boxes (cost metrics and revenue metrics) unchecked so I can see what your ads cost and what they bring in.
- Click Add
That is all. My email now shows in the list with the Administrator role.
Why Administrator
Google describes Administrator as full control of Analytics. It includes everything the Editor role can do with your settings, plus managing users. I ask for it so I can do the whole job without coming back to you for each piece: counting calls and form leads as key events, connecting Search Console and Google Ads, setting how long data is kept, filtering out your own visits, and cleaning up old logins, such as a former web designer who still has access.
| Who | Role | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| You | Administrator | You own the account, see everyone who has access, and can remove anyone, including me. |
| Me | Administrator | I can set up and change everything in the account and read every report, so nothing waits on a second invite. |
Adding me does not change who owns the account. It stays in your Google account, and the data stays with your business if you ever stop working with me.
Verify it works
- Back in Account access management,
tuckershively@gmail.comappears in the list with the Administrator role. - I reply to confirm I can open your properties and see your data.
Troubleshooting
Remove my access later
Go back to Account access management, find tuckershively@gmail.com in the list, open the menu at the end of its row, and choose Remove access. Nothing else in the account changes, and your data stays where it is.
